1954 Hudson Italia

Only about 26 of these ended up getting manufactured and sold, the model idea ended by the merger of Hudson and Nash-Kelvinator in the mid-50’s.  I can’t get over those front fenders.  They are actually functional, they cool the front brakes.  But from this view the car looks kind of like Joan Crawford praying.

Anatomically correct seats would’ve made me a little nervous.

I wonder if they dubbed this car show class “If you woke up one morning and everybody drove cartoon cars.”

GASPING For breath here. I’d even give up the Allstate Deluxe for this Hudson. https://www.alleewillis.com/awmok/kitschenette/2012/08/01/whered-you-get-that-car-sears-roebuck/

I would have totally needed sedation to even walk past those 4 cars in the bottom photo. Holy moly. You know what each of the other ones are?

The thought of a car company and a refrigerator company merging to make automobiles is too cool to even think about!

Was the car show in the bottom photo in Monterey by any chance? That’s what it looks like.

    This was Amelia Island, Florida.

The blue one behind it is a ’51 Buick LeSabre concept.

I don’t know what the other two are, but pretty sure the green one that looks like a car built by John Deere only has three wheels.
