And Me, I’m Ed McMahon

The butt of Johnny’s jokes, the forever sidekick…..This album title is just a little too desperate and sad! I have some of his books too…My favorite is his diet book…every celebrity should write one, most of them do, but I’m extra glad Ed did…..And by the way, his voice isn’t bad at all!

Never heard this album he but I’m happy that Ed got a little center stage time himself in his pre Star Search life.

Was this cut in the ’60s? Are the arrangements more Frank Sinatraish, Engelbert Humperdinckish or go-go influenced?

this was made in 1963 and is definitely on the Humperdinck tip…..what i would give for it to be go-go though…..

i LOVED star search, but i love Ed more….

Read “King of the Night,” and it’s not hard to love Ed McMahon. I know Johnny’s first high school girl friend (her Dad made them break up because JC’s ambitions were to be a magician,) and while so many loved him on the small screen, and his comedic timing was impeccable, it was still just part of a network machine that so many talented people were subordinated to be sure the ads ran.
