Flamingo Mobile Home Court is situated on a busy residential street in a city abutting Detroit on the northwest. This is the 16′ high sign, “FLAMINGO”, located on both sides of the driveway entrance and some of the homes as the are referred to on for rent and for sale signs within the 65? mobile home community. i was told the sign is 55 years old.

I absolutely love this sign. I love mobile home courts in general. But once they have an incredibly nostalgic name like “Flamingo” I love them even more.

It’s always excellent when something in a cold climate is called something warm like “Flamingo”.

So great that the flamingos are actually three-dimensional. So often with signs like this they’re just flat cut outs.

One of my favorite things is the big rock in the second photo that’s been put there so no one trips over the curb, which doesn’t quite meet there. Of course, now rather than just stumbling and possibly twisting their ankle someone can do the same thing, fly and land flat on their face at the same time.

The downed stop sign, not actually a stop sign but one adapted from a lamppost, is a fitting end to your post.
