A Plant is a Gift (?)

This past weekend, I was privileged to stay at a friend’s house (among other things, as this past weekend, really, was nothing BUT ridiculous privileges) with one of my most beloved cohorts. In return for use of an apartment that I am now in love with, my favorite cohort and I decided to clean up the place and decorate it a bit. It needed a few touches here and there since the regular occupant is probably the most overworked person on the planet. A little love was in order, ya know? When said cohort returned form the store with a plant to pretty up the place, I commented that plants are tricky presents since they can be burdensome for non plant lovers. This was my cohort’s solution. You can see why I love her so much.

    Yeah!

I can so relate to that. I’ve managed to kill every plant that’s ever been to the inner sanctum of Willis Wonderland except one given to me as a housewarming gift by Herb Alpert in 1980 when I first moved in. It actually died once when I left it outside in a rainstorm but came back with a vengeance after I refused to throw it out. It”s now over 20 feel tall and takes over my living room. It won’t die despte my cat Niblet feasting on its new growth every day.

hahahaah wow, I should have your plant autograph my Herb Alpert records….He always did the best sexist album covers…

The one record? single? my dad ever made was at A&M….I’m dying for a copy…I’ve only heard a recording sent by one of his old friends…It was hilarious and awesome….wonder if A&M kept archives of stuff like that?
