Cute paper mache bank by Dakin, made in Japan.. I’m guessing in the 1960s or 70s? This thing cost me a dime, I think.

This is the kind of thing I would never buy myself but then I see it in a photo and think it’s some of the greatest kitsch ever. So completely insane that a little girl would be plopped on top of a mushroom like that, especially a psychedelic looking one, with the ladybug about to eat her hand. And then it’s a bank no less. I’m officially jealous!
I almost didn’t buy it, because it was one of those yard sales where nothing was priced, and I hate having to ask people before I have a starting price to haggle with… but when I found out everything was dirt cheap, I went back and grabbed it.
