These posters are of Allee’s high school yearbook photo.  They are rare at this point and not many people have them.  I may be one of 5 people that have one.  These posters were used at the showing of Allee’s musical “The Color Purple” at the Fox Theater in Detroit on April 8th and 9th.  The event was titled: “Allee Willis Marches On Detroit”.  So this is getting the framing treatment as soon as I have funds available.   Allee, your hair deserves an award and I treasure this poster!

Yes, this was my high school graduation photo that I blew up to hang in the lobby of the Fox theater when I went home to Detroit to conduct my high school marching band playing a medley of my greatest hits. Color Purple was playing in the main theater. I grew up in this theater and one of the last times I was ever in it before the show played there, first in 2009 and then in 2011, was when I had that hairdo.

Love you, Denny, for flying in and helping me those 2 days. Absolutely one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Though not quite as memorable as the top I was wearing in this photo which was this stiff and nubby yellow polyester thing that was itching me to death. But I was very proud of my little pearl necklace, the fanciest thing that I owned to date.

I’m hoping to fly out for the new show although I know that the dynamics are a bit different and you might not need a staff per say. We worked our tails off with a little drama thrown in for shock value, but I had a terrific time and am thrilled and honored to be considered one of your staff as well as a friend.

Yes, this picture of you kills me! You know I am a total fan of the bubble/flip hair-do. You worked it good with this hair AW.
