Sheila sounds like my kind gal. Would love to reminisce with her over a Colt 45.
Just IMDb’d this to see if it did, indeed, become a “major motion picture.” It didn’t, but Gunard DOES have a credit for writing a book that DID become a “major motion picture” and it’s called… wait for it… HONKY.
I’ve definitely heard of “Honky” tho have never been able to track it down. Now I’m on the hunt!
Gunard Solberg was my English teacher! Our class went on a field trip to downtown San Francisco to see the movie. I don’t remember much about it, but I did like the book. I don’t think the cover blurb accurately reflected the contents. I don’t think the movie stayed close to the book either.
Did he talk about his books in class?
Can’t we all relate a little to Sheila?
Cool story Imani!
