So completely gorgeous – structure, signs, and transportational vehicles et al.

I definitely remember as a kid that going to the gas station was a very exciting event. All the cars looked like rocket ships. I can’t say that Detroit had such an outstanding physical structure of a gas station but I love the smell of gasoline so much that was enough to get me to hop into the car any time my dad said it was time to fill up. And then there’s that flying horse!

Do you know where this was? I wonder if that roof still exists?

This is teriffic….I’ve never seen a Mobil Horse at a station like this one!!! I do remember the gloves!!!

  3. I don’t know where it is, but I can imagine it being Dallas.

And I love the big “R” and “S” on top of the pumps for regular, and supreme.

The fact that the pumps are hanging with air under them is kinda cool to me.

I think the person with the gloves in the Austin Healy is about to get a free goblet for filling up today. She’ll collect four, then give them to her Aunt in Amarillo for Christmas.

  4. It’s Anaheim 1955, across the street from Disneyland.
