I’m still not sure where the idea came from to paint the Mona Lisa but she was fun to paint.  It was awfully hard not to put her in high-heels or give her, big, colorful lips or gigantic bulging eyes.

I like this cheerier Mona better than her namesake Mona Lisa. She’s bright and cheery eyed and doesn’t have that stupid hat on.

Are those trees or mushrooms growing in the background?

  2. denny denny says:

THose are supposed to be trees but I think I like the mushrooms better.

I prefer this to the original by miles!!!! She is more beautiful, just as mysterious and the background is too brilliant!! SHe is staring at an oncoming ship surrounded by music stands, behind and above are Daniel Johnston-esque alien frogs, a sea snake is chasing a manta ray in a swimming pool and an utlrasound of a bowel obstruction looms above her right shoulder…that’s how I see it and I love it faaaaar more than the original!!

Why thank you Wind-Up! I think this should be hanging in the “real” mona’s place!

    I don’t know Daniel Johnson.

I totally agree..let’s write a letter to the Louvre :) or better yet, just return it to Italy where it belongs!

Daniel Johnston is a brilliant singer/songwriter/musician/artist…been a fan since the 80s…you might like what he does…I have loads of cassette tapes of his,but most of his works are available on cd by now i think…he’s not had the easiest life… I respect and admire his abilities and creativity so much…
