I saw Doris Day in her first movie, Romance on the High Seas, in San Francisco in 1948. She was there promoting the movie. She was very pretty, personable and had a great voice. After that, I went to many of her pictures and found she was a many talented actress, even in scary movies like Midnight Lace and The Man Who Knew Too Much. In this 45 rpm album she sings and dances with seasoned veteran, James Cagney

I LOVED Doris Day. Still do. I especially love all the 60s movie she did. Very kitschy, In fact, one of my all time favorite films is “The Thrill of It All”. I could still watch that a hundred times in a row and laugh out loud.

OH man!!! Doris Day is absolutely one of my all time favorites too. I have spent many an hour watching dvds of her bizarrely ever-changing show and yes, agreed, The Thrill of it All is tops!!! That movie almost makes me anxious, I love it so much!! It’s so hard to get through any frame without wanting every stitch of clothing and every tiny detail of every set….LOVE that film!!! LOVELOVELOVE that film!!! I’ve definitely a bunch of vinyl, none of it signed, but that’s ok cause at least I can hear it!! She is fabulous, so talented, so funny, so gorgeous and she’s an animal advocate…she remains a hero of mine, for sure!
