Found this bizarre little 50′s metallic lamp at a yard sale recently.   It’s designed to be clamped onto something– a table, a headboard, a desk.

I love the weird combination of  the “fancy” decorative elements with the ugly functional elements like the exposed socket, switch, cord and clamp.

Love this. I have a few vintage clamp lamps but none that attempted to look this fancy. It’s also my absolute favorite 50′s color combo of light light paint and gold. The jewels and braiding push it even farther.

    Have you turned it on?

Yes, and despite it being over 50 years old, it actually worked!

  3. This is delicious, Ive never seen one before.
