This is a great vintage poster for the Margaret and Walter Keane Studio. I don’t know the date, I don’t know if the 494 Broadway, SFO address would help to date it?..
I found it in NY years ago in the Annex Garage Flea Market on 26th Street… 28 x 11

Beautiful! I’ve never seen this before. I’m absolutely amazed that Walter let Margaret put her name on this as he was so piggy about making people think that it was actually him doing the paintings, which it wasn’t: http://www.alleewillis.com/awmok/kitschenette/2010/03/31/allee-willis’-kitsch-o’-the-day-–-the-only-thing-better-then-a-keane-painting-is-to-be-with-keane/
Thank you..
It looks like the Margaret Keane film “Big Eyes” film is now in IMDB, with a date for 2013..
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1126590/
Starring …Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds
Produceder …Tim Burton!!
Oh, I know it’s blasphemous to say but I’m a little upset to hear that it’s being made by Tim Burton. Though you’ve written that he’s the producer. That may not be so bad. But director I don’t know… I thought he absolutely ruined the story of one of my idols, Ed D. Wood Jr. All the life and spontaneity that was Ed Wood was squeezed out of it. I just hope it’s not a dark movie with all the special effects stuffed in. I would’ve rather seen a more sensitive director do the Keane story rather than one who’s going to make all the big eyes pop out and spin.
Hummm???… IMDB..Shows both Directors/Writing credits go to Scott Alexander, and Larry Karaszewski??? They both worked together on Ed Wood????…with a list of almost matching film credits??? ..Uh-Oh
Wow– what a find! I love this! Don’t think I’d want a typical Keane painting in my home, but this one is really cool!
Thanks, I was shocked/surprised when I saw it, I thought it was kinda cool too!
WOW!
