Here in Texas it’s just considered normal cuisine. This was taken at the annual Yamboree in Gilmer, Texas which has more kitsch than you can shake a Kinky Friedman action figure at.

I’ve still have never tasted a deep fried Twinkie. This is the PERFECT foodstuff to me so I don’t even want to risk developing a new habit.
The Yamboree sounds like my kind of place for sure!
This and deep fried Oreos belong on any kitsch menu.
I think I like deep fried Oreos the best since it makes the cookies soft and chewy.
I kinda of thought fried twinkies were urban legends…I don’t think I cold bring myself to eat one, but I love that they really exist! More posts on the Yamboree, PLEASE!!!
They’ll deep fry pretty much anything down here. Ever have a deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich? I’ll look through more of my Yamboree photos but I should warn you some people might them disturbing.
HahahaI’m willing to take the risk…curiosity killed the cat…or at least made it’s cholesterol shoot through the roof…I can’t wait!
Deep fried PBJ sounds like a dream! I know that would rise to the top of my fave foods list.
I know, I almost don’t want to know about it…
