I have a degree in history and art education, but have chosen to be a full time artist instead of a full time teacher. Making art is where my heart lives. I do however substitute teach because I still love being in the classroom, and I'll not deny that I appreciate the garaunteed paycheck that comes with it. It's my belief that the art bug, in my case, is inherited. My Grandmother is a quilter, my mother is a stained glass artist, and now I am an assemblage artist. Although recently I've been getting more and more into oil pastels, my favorite materials to work with are random things that I find on the ground. My mother's motto has always been "one man's trash is another man's treasure" and that just resonates with me. I support my art, with my craft. I make beaded jewelry and sell it at art festivals, craft shows, and in local stores.
