Comments

These are all of comments I've made about all the beautiful Kitsch in the Kitschenette Wing of the AWMoK:

Mowing your lawn could really be a lot of fun with this!

The Wedgewood Futura-Matic Gas Oven: A Salute

  1. Markydoodle says:

So I'm looking back at this post, and don't know why I didn't mention that it's our Palm Springs condo. This place is part of a mid-century modern complex in south Palm Springs. It was developed by Les Paul, and we have so much fun when we are there in the winter. I posted that in March 2011, we bought the place in October 2010. We still have the original kitchen in it.

I am trying to figure out if I can have someone come in and re-tool the oven and range to make them modern. Getting some resistance on that, but who doesn't love coppertone?

  2. Markydoodle says:

Wow! Where do you live you must have a cool house! Mad the fact that you still have the stuff you started with means you take good care of things.

Send us pictures of your house! I would love to see it.

There are appliance stores in LA that specialize in old models.

  3. Markydoodle says:

It's functioning. It's funny to me that it's a double oven, yet both ovens have to be at the same temp. I put an oven thermometer in it, and it runs about 20 degrees hot. There are certain features that I'm not sure how to operate, like the "Roast-Matic," which I think keeps it at a certain temp for specific meats (the square box to the right near the temp control knob.)

R.I.P. aKitschionado MAGGIE LEWIS a.k.a. Windupkitty

  1. Markydoodle says:

I don't want to let her go of course. Not today. Not yet. This one gave all us all gifts. Sometimes we thought we were just special, and then later it dawned on us that she had given us this wonderful gift of a nice day. And we hoped that somehow we had given her one.

Maggie you gave us more than a nice day. You gave us a standard.

Live like you're dying, cause baby we all are, just all of us at a different pace.

    Random acts of kindness embodied.

Funk, Nebraska 68940

  1. Markydoodle says:

I had a mad crush on a girl from Funk back in high school. Now I can't even remember her name. Maybe Jan. But what attracted me to her was that she was really funny. She introduced herself to me by saying "I'm from Funk. I go to Funk University, you know, Funk U." She had me at I'm from Funk.

Busted

  1. Markydoodle says:

    '54.

What killed me was the (probably fake) black CA plates, and it was sitting in the middle of Nebraska in a very small town.
