I've worked as a studio and touring singer, singing backup for people like Natalie Cole, Russell Watson, Barbra Streisand, Neil Young, Allee Willis, Johnny Mathis, Don Henley, France Gall and B.J. Thomas. And singing in films and TV shows such as Glee, Family Guy, Happy Feet, Salt, The Matrix Reloaded, Amistad, It's the Pied Piper Charlie Brown, and According To Jim. My album, THIS LIFE, can be found at iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/this-life/id280554329) and other online stores.

I love taking pictures, which for me is part of the fun of putting pieces in the Museum of Kitsch (love video and shooting that too). I like the challenge of arranging the pieces and framing them in the viewer, to get the shot just right.

I've been a leisurely, sometimey collector over the years thanks to eBay and my travels. A friend used to say that I collected used Hondas, because I'd gone thru a few and still had a couple at that point. But I was really working on my toy robot collection, one of which is signed by Bill Mumy and featured in the Museum of Kitsch. My modest record collection of 400 vinyl record albums includes all the Earth Wind & Fire hits, all the vinyl Joni Mitchell, and the vinyl recordings of my sister's incredible voice.

Collecting is a thrill. To me the acts of seeking and finding are as exciting as owning and displaying. I'm always ready to show guests in my home the robots and various items of kitsch.

I'm glad that these kitsch items are preserved here, if only in 2D, because a lot of them have left my realm and gone on to other homes. I am glad to say, however, that I still have the record collection, and the Bill Mumy B-9 Robot remains in its undisclosed location. I'm also happy to have re-entered the 3-D virtual worlds (OSGrid, Second Life, 3rd Rock Grid, etc).

The Real Nutcracker

  1. michaelmishaw says:

It's still fun to use this while listening to Tchaikovsky's Trepak Dance or Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies.

  2. michaelmishaw says:

Hahahaha! What's missing is a little spool with two holes in it that used to sit in the middle of the bowl. So the nutcracker could be stood upright in the spool. The spool came out some years ago and disappeared.

Gold Ornate Fork & Spoon Wall Hangings

  1. michaelmishaw says:

And they are about two feel long or a little more.

  2. michaelmishaw says:

Nope. They come from the same molded plaster from which the gold fish was made. They are "vintage", so their gold spray paint has dulled a bit, or should I say petrified? Guess thats what makes them look a bit more woody now.

Large Gold Fish on Knotty Pine

  1. michaelmishaw says:

    Yes, some kind of plaster.

R.A.P. (Ray, Anita and Percy)

  1. michaelmishaw says:

Hahahaha! It's all about their hair-do's. But I noticed that Anita does have her arms folded and a trace of don't-f**k-with-me on her face, whereas the others look so relaxed and carefree.
