Blame it on the Pamphlet!

Why spend a lot of money on expensive dance lessons when you can learn to dance the Bossa Nova from a 1962 pamphlet for only 50 cents?

Apparently the publishers were  able to offer this booklet at such a cheap price by doing the graphic design themselves instead of hiring a professional.  Love how the big block of copy encroaches on the happy dancers below.  “Inez,” like other Latin American celebs like Charro and Evita, needs no last name.

Cut-and-paste in its original usage when it literally meant cutting and pasting:

First of all, I love the song, “Blame It On The Bossa Nova”. Second, I have a whole set of Joe Bonomo exercise pamphlets. They look like they’re the same size as these. I don’t know the exact measurements of the books as they’re not in front of me but they’re probably 4″ x 6″. Is that what this one is?

Bonomo was the first person to have his exercise pamphlets at grocery store checkout counters. You could buy them individually but I found about six small cases of them, 12 books each in a gold box. They’re full of the same kind of cheesy and wonderful graphics. I never knew he did dance pamphlets though. This is a killer.
