All these Country Music LP album covers were published in a wonderful full color LP size book.

Wait… it get even better…

Carl and Pearl wear matching jackets. But there’s more…

OK… one more…

Their names are written into their jackets to avoid mistaken identity.

We want to look away but can’t.

I wish the vehicle on the Vinyl Hayride cover was sitting in my driveway right now. I used to go to Nudies all the time. He was the tailor who made Elvis’s famous gold suit and costumed all of the big country stars. His store was in North Hollywood, CA. I got to ride in his Cadillac once. It had a big bullhorns hood ornaments and was covered with coins and chrome like this car. You can see some of his cars here: http://www.nudiesrodeotailor.com/gallery_cars01.html

Carl Butler and Pearl have perfect hair and wardrobe and never looked better.

Needless to say, the third LP featuring truck driver favorites is a favorite. I love that the waitress is who’s making the juke selections. Though she’s awfully dressed up to be a waitress in a truck stop. Perhaps aprons were in as a look that year in Nashville. There’s an excellent companion album to this already here at AWMOK: https://www.alleewillis.com/awmok/kitschenette/2009/11/23/thats-truckdrivin-lp/

I’m not even breathing from the Wilburn Brothers suits which are probably made with so much polyester, coupled with the amount of grease in their hair, they Will Burn if a flame gets too close. I would kill for one of these suits. The fact that their name is spelled out on the back makes me cry I love it so much.

These covers screamed “take my picture”, though there were plenty more. Carl and Pearl Bulter are singing on YouTube, with costumes beyond what you see here and Pearl’s hair is practically touching the clouds.
