From the City of Los Angeles presented to Allee Willis. A pretty amazing thing.

Honoring Alle’s work in composing “The Color Purple” score.

I cannot believe I haven’t seen any production of this play!!!!!!

Well, um, I wasn’t really a big fan of this song but am glad that it did so well for Allee!

Celebrating 1 million broadcast performances of SEPTEMBER! All of these awards and commendations are hanging on the same wall lining the stairway that would take you to my favorite room!

What’s even more amazing than the Certificate of Commendation I got from the City of Los Angeles is that my once alter-ego, Bubbles the artist, http://www.bubblestheartist.com/, got one too! It’s one thing for a living person to get this but for a fictional character to get it is a seriously big deal. I have no idea how that happened.

The one honoring me for The Color Purple score in the second photo was given to me by the state of California.

The third is for a Grammy nomination for the show. Jersey Boys won that year, which never seemed quite fair as all those songs were written 40 years ago. Also, although I’m just publishing this now you posted it quite some time ago and, as we all know, you’ve seen the show by now. (BTW, TCP is a MUSICAL and not a PLAY. Two totally different animals.)

The Special Citation of Achievement from BMI is an award for songs that have been played more than 1 million times on the radio. I have seven or eight of these for various songs.
