Crazy Quilts – 1970s Style!

  1. Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com says:

I am definitely not a typical quilt person either, but I swear I'm such a sucker for those hyper-saturated 1970s colors, I swoon.

I'll definitely share a photo of the couch - I love it, but we're in the process of rearranging the furniture and the Hacienda is in a bit of a mess!

I Lost the Battle at the Thrift Store

  1. Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com says:

Oh how I wish that lady let you have it - it would've been such good karma! But at least she let you photo it. Retro Roadhusband collects phonograph records from things like this- I'll have to have him check to see if any are from Detroit! If so we'll whisk it off to you for sure!

Denny’s Adventures In Allee’s “Willis Wonderland” – July 2011 – Part 281

That is one swanky B! I should know, having been given many a monogrammed item with that letter on it (for Beth or now, Betty!) Bubbles must love it!

Frency Singing Family Goes Cowboy – La Famille Dessureault Record Album

  1. Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com says:

Oh and Obvs I mean to write French, not Frency but I guess they are kinda Frenchy! I think they must've had quite a few matching outfits. Some of us gals here in Phoenixville are thinking of doing some doo-wop backup singing for Blobfest, so I'm all about the matching outfits and choreography at the moment - perhaps I'll look to these gals for inspiration!

Cheer Up! You Could Be At Work barware

  1. Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com says:

The glasses were indeed a total find, and while I can see places where the decal has been washed away, I plan on taking good care of 'em!

Now that we're settling down back at the Hacienda I'll have to get back in the swing of posting some of my fun finds. But our place looks positively zen compared to yours! Something to aspire to :-)

Already collecting up the list of people we missed and placed to go to for our next trip to L.A. - Cliff goes out there in July for music stuff, I'm thinking I might just tag along!

K-tel Disco Dynamite Continuous Disco Music!

  1. Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com says:

I was just thinking that we should've had the K-tel records playing when we did our vintage slide show, as it was 70s related!

Funny thing I have to teach the dog is you can't bound around with records on, they skip! Also helps me to keep me light on my feet as I "Get Down and Boogie" :-)

Allee Willis’ Kitsch O’ The Day – Luenell’s Big Birthday Party!

  1. Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com says:

OH that looks like fun! And loving her dress! IF I was ever in showbiz I'd wear sparkly things like that all the time! So glad she's a dear pal, too. We all need those, no matter how famous we are :-)

Swinging 60s Dancing Kids Jewelry Box

  1. Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com Mod Betty RetroRoadmap.com says:

I meant to write this in the original description but the figures remind me of the anonymous "Rocking Out" people you often see painted around those Musik Express type rides in traveling carnivals or amusement parks. So awkward yet so cool!

As far as the Jewels go, it's all pretty generic - but I will share the slightly un_PC "Oriental" charm bracelet in there - I wear it when we go out to have Chinese food sometime :-)
