Do you want ketchup with your phone?

A nice companion piece to the hamburger phone that appeared in JUNO, this is an actual phone shaped like an order of fries. Press a button on the side and it flips open in the back, revealing the keypad. The phone is plastic but the fries are sort of rubbery. Wonder if they offer a “Freedom Phone” version in France?

From the title I was sure I was going to open up this post and see a phone in the shape of a Heinz ketchup bottle, which I was going to be proud to say that I owned. But I was happy to be shocked by this french fries phone which I’ve never seen. It would make a worthy companion piece to a clock I posted on my Kitsch O’ The Day blog recently: https://www.alleewillis.com/blog/2010/03/12/allee-willis-kitsch-o-the-day-fake-mcdonalds-plastic-french-fry-clock/.

I used to find all these phones made in the shape of objects, a craze that really took off in the late 1970s, very annoying. But the more I see them now the more wonderful I think they are.
