I vaguely remember a toy like this but am not sure if it was a toy marketed towards white or black children. Whoever it it was marketed towards doesn’t matter. What matters is the kitsch factor and the curiosity of whether or not this toy actually worked? Battery operated maybe?

How much do I love the little black doll manning the controls?!
I wonder how that thing worked? It couldnt possibly have recognized everyone’s handwriting in order to translate. And how much would it have cost to get EVERY language in there? Slovakian? A very ambitious toy indeed. But there had to have been a catch in there someplace.
