I take it those are original strings?
Is it made of plastic like a toy or is it a real banjo?

Yes, they are plastic strings. It’s a toy – but that said, it made an impressive twang in its day.
My Daddy gave it to me. A huge display of love as it’s safe to say the Fab Four were not his musical cup of tea. I have treasured it since the day he brought it home.

My Mother once called to tell me she was throwing this out. I was in college at the time. I literally wept and she ran downstairs, plucked it from the trash, called and profusely apologized.

I’m thinking a lot of Beatles collectors would go nuts over this item. I’ve never seen one before. Pretty cool.
