In the late 1980s, the powdered drink TANG had some short-lived mascots that were made of giant lips. They were claymation and probably more-than-a-little ripped off of the California Raisins. I found this hideous plastic bank at a flea market and brought it home…though it probably won’t be IN my home for long.

I never did like Tang that much… even if the astronauts do drink it…

Hideous but wonderful!! So obnoxiously and wonderfully overwrought.
I don’t remember this Tang promo. So bizarre for product promo swag.
I actually liked the taste of Tang. And I felt so futuristic because it was the driink of choice for astronauts.
I actually had a set of 4 PVC Lips figurines, a girl, this beefy lip-guy, a kid in PJs, and some other one.. I think they were either a promotion when you bought TANG or a giveaway from Burger King or something. I gave them to my piano teacher though and I am trying to re-collect the set. They go for a lot on Ebay though so I’m looking for them at yard sales.
How much is a lot? They’re so completely gross looking but I understand how they could be collectible.
I donno, maybe $15 or so for the four of them, it seems.
