It’s time for a Fresca!

Fresca

A classic diner clock, here exhorting us to enjoy sugar free Fresca. I like this clock for a few reasons – most importantly, it works. Next, snowflakes and crisp winter winds are the first things that come to mind when I drink a grapefruit soda. Finally, a more personal reason – my grandmother has always had a few Frescas in her fridge (which she calls a “Frigidaire” the way one might Xerox a paper or Google a quote). I used to stop by and visit her on my way from my folks house up to college, and invariably, she’d try to send me off with a Fresca and some Milano cookies. Tangential to that, I think that “Fresca Milano” would be a great name for a secret agent/Bond girl/stripper.

I always loved Fresca despite the fact that I’ve never tasted it but remain very attached to the era it came out of. Grapefruit soda, Lemon or Lime or anything of a more acidic nature was never my thing. The closest I ever got was Orange but I pretty much stayed on the other side of the tracks with sweeter things like grape or strawberry. With this said, I love these kind of promotional clocks. And I love what you’ve written!

On the cookie tip. I was also more of the Brussels and Chessman type than Milano, but give undying props to anything Pepperidge.
