Bullwinkle Scooter

Submitted by DetroitKent November 25th, 2009

We bought this at an eastern toy auction for resale several years ago but it obviously it hasn’t sold. People of a certain age stop to admire but not buy. Bullwinkle was on TV from 1959 to 1964; “Rocky And His Ffriends” and “The Bullwinkle Show”. The scooter was made in 1972 (late for our toys – most are from late ’20’s thru the ’50’s). The scooter is made of molded plastic and is 23″ high X 19 1/2″ long X10 1/2″ wide to outside wheels.

I wasn’t the world’s biggest Bullwinkle fan as his lisp always sounded like it carried so much spit and I could always imagine that collecting right next to the corners of his lips. I did like Rocky though as I was always partial to buck teeth and leather flying caps.

I do think this scooter is fabulous and rare. Molded plastic is one of my favorite building materials ever!
