Mom’s Christmas List – 1948 Submitted by denny December 27th, 2009 This was my Mother’s Christmas list from 1948. Examine it, it’s fabulous! Here’s a pic from the year she wrote the list!
Fantastic list and so great that you have a photo of your mom from that year. Love that a Betsy Wetsy doll (the first of its kind) would be on the same list as a lawnmower, seashells and a hanky.
Look how she spelled “mower”! I took my Mother back to the childhood home she wrote this in! I ended up befriending the woman that owns the house and planned a surprise car trip to it on one of my visits home. When we walked down the sidewalk towards the house upon our arrival, my mother turned and said to me “I haven’t been on this sidewalk in 67 years”. Then as soon as we walked into the house, she turned and told us “that is where I used to listen to the radio”. It was an amazing experience.
she’s so lovely! this is the sweetest thing i’ve ever seen and yeah, gotta love the lawn mower and the fact that she was thinking about everybody when she made this list!
Thanks wind up Kitty! My mother is an incredible human being.
I suppose I should see what she wrote on the back of this!
Yes you should!
