Let’s Dance!

Submitted by windupkitty January 3rd, 2010

Words can not express how much I love this album cover (the record’s great too)! The color saturation is incredible (couldn’t even capture it here). It’s literally day-glo red and it’s in fairly good condition! I also LOVE the dancer (only she could make her freeze frame seizure, I mean dance, look so sassy and sexy!) and have coveted her dress from the moment I first laid eyes on it. If I ever get my figure back, I’m tracking her down and begging her for it!

Your comment pretty much wraps up my thoughts. Beyond anything, when red is so supersaturated as to pin the needle on the Pantone chart it’s finally red enough for me. The contrast of that unbelievably brilliant 50s/ early 60’s dress is perfect. Judging from the poses she’s doing, she would have been one of those modern jazz types who seriously annoyed me out on the dance floor but she’s oh so perfect for this cover. And David Carroll and his Orchestra were always reliable for presenting a fine cheese plate on any occasion.

It’s okay Wind up Kitty, I absolutely get it, this album cover is stunning! I love anything in a tryptic pose! These covers are passionate exposes of kitschness! This was on the Mercury Label too! I’ll let you know if I locate this recording!

Okay Wind Up (and anyone else that wants to participate), you owe me some dancing! I love this, “A Gliss To Remember” is fabulous! “Dixie’s Dawn Patrol” & “The Puerto Rican Peddler” and “My Sin”! Thank you again for turning me onto David Carroll! He’s tops for sure!
