Wooden Game Board 1970

Submitted by denny January 16th, 2010

This wooden multi game board was found at a garage sale in Florida. What attracted me was the black and red tear drop design on the board. This I still own and it used to hang in our living room. Love the little nets at each corner! It was made by Affiliated Hospital Products in 1970.

I’ve always thought these were gorgeous. Most of these were tabletops and a wide variety of games could be played on them. Does it have any hardware on the bottom to indicate that it was, in fact, a tabletop at one time? The fact that it’s made by Affiliated Hospital Products means there’s a good chance of that.

The little nets were made for snooker or some kind of game like that but I always used to stash my Tab in them whenever I played checkers. The checkers were, of course, made of Bakelite which always looked so gorgeous and made an excellent sound as they jumped opposing ones and hit the wood with a twack!

I will have to edit this post and download a pic of the backside of it. It has no hardware, just simply flip it over to find other games! Another fun piece and I believe cost me $10.00.
