This was the very first cookie jar I ever owned when I moved to Los Angeles in 1976. I sold it in the one and only garage sale I ever had in 1983 and still mourn its loss.

The paint on mine was scratched just like this. Hard to believe that anyone would hand paint on top of ceramic on a mass-produced cookie jar like this but I guess that’s just how it was. There were a lot of these made so it makes no sense that they never solved the scratching issue.

I always had coconut chocolate chip cookies in mine with an occasional Oreo and Mothers pink coated with multicolored sprinkles thrown in.

I saw it and just nabbed it. I now keep chocolates, candy and candy in it. I now have about 4 or 5 cookie jars. The apple created a monster.
