Pink Rotary Princess Phone…THE Holy Grail

What could be more exciting than to find the holy grail. To me it was a vintage bubble gum pink, rotary dial, princess telephone. This phone is dated 1969, but I think the first model was about ’59-’60. Even the 4 prong plug sent me spinning. In researching the early princess phone… it had no ringer. It was an issue being too light weight. When you dialed, it flopped around, so they made it heavier. Also, the dial lite up like a night light. It was a teen girl’s ultimate bedroom extension phone. I wasn’t so fortunate, the family shared one traditional rotary phone.

So Beautiful!!! Mine was turquoise blue. I used to get so excited when the dial lit up and would spin it even if I wasn’t making a call just to see it glow. And I still have a bunch of the little promotional keychains the phone company gave away to promote the Princess.

So is this phone in your possession now? No question pink was the ultimate color.

I no longer have this pink beauty but they do appear every once in awhile at a tag sale. Turquoise blue rates high too. I have a touch tone princess I use as my land phone. Great sound quality.
