Now I pray you bought this though I fear you didn’t because you usually say something about snapping it up if you’ve actually left the store with the item you post. Living here in California and having a collection of coconut friends out under all of my 31 palm trees, seeing something made out of coconuts as rare as a squirrel would have had me falling back into a rack of dishes the breath would be so knocked out of me. Not that you should have any reason to want to collect carved coconuts on the other coast. But I’m just saying, as these coconuts go this is a beauty.

On top of everything this squirrel looks more like a rat.

The little painted on whiskers, fur and eyeliner makes it even better because this really looks more like a crafts project then something made by a professional coconut maker.

Oops. Then I probably shouldn’t tell you that there was another one that I spotted when leaving, I think it was a rabbit. I’ll go down tomorrow and see if they are still there.

If they are I’ll reimburse you. BUT if they’re more than $10 each only get the squirrel. Unless the rabbit is equally handmade looking. And only go if convenient. (And if u go, only if u have time, document the process. What ‘s the shelf look like the coconuts are on?, What’s the outside of the thrift shop look like, the salesperson, etc.? These reconnaissance trips should be an adventure.

It’s a 1/2 hour from my house. It’s fine with me. With everything going on here, I always look forward to the adventure of an outing. Will let you know tomorrow if my mission is successful. Damn, I should have got them the other day!
