Colorful fashion lives on and on…

A recent rummage sale was filled with lots of colorful clothing. At first I was focusing on the jacket. The pattern is so fabulous. Then the backdrop of colorful shoes from past decades took over. Each pair of shoes make a fashion statement.

Can’t tell if the jacket is vintage or newer. Could be anywhere from 1950s to 90s. If it’s down at the 50s end it’s much better but a great graphic no matter how you cut the cake.

Love some of the shoes. Those fake beige alligator trying-to-look-like Gucci loafers are pretty great. I don’t wear high heels but I do love the pointy squared off toes on the green ones. Looks like some crazy clear plastic ones tucked under the left arm with the really squared off silver toes too.

Yep, you caught it all. I think the jacket is recent with a 50’s fun pattern. The green pointy shoes stopped me in my tracks. Round, pointed, square toes. Comfortable shoes wear out. Dress shoes seem to end up at rummage and yard sales.

when you shop and you see things you want to photograph, do you arrange it yourself? I do that and gets me some really interesting looks which makes my shopping trips all the more exciting.

Yes and no. I go for composition. I’d rather have a wide full shot and crop in later. I crop out things that might distract. I usually take 2 or 3 shots. No one seems to care if I move things. I just put it back as I found it. Other times it’s a spontaneous grab shot.
In this case, the jacket was near the shoes, so I positioned the jacket as you see it. I didn’t touch the shoes…they were perfect.
Lately, with camera in hand, I have more fun shooting than buying.
