Yahoo! Here are some cowboy lunchboxes. My favorite is the Chuck Wagon dome box at the top (from 1958). The wagon is under attack and you can see an burning arrow setting the canvas top afire, then when you turn the box to the side, you see see a woman inside of the wagon trying to put out the fire! Other boxes are Gene Autry (1954), Brave Eagle (1957), Roy Rogers and Dale (1957), Wagon Train (1964) and Roy Rogers dome (1955).

Yes! The graphics on the Chuck Wagon lunch box is superb! I would love to have one of those. I imagine they fetch a pretty penny these days.

More beautiful boxes! I have the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Chow Wagon one and the Gene Autry one. I never specifically collected cowboy lunchboxes but very much collected ones of famous personalities so those rode into the bunch.

Would love to see the ’58 Chuck wagon one as a separate submission because now I’m dying to see the back.

How many of these have their thermoses?

Perfect choice of colors on the shelf by the way.

The pretty penny depends. Certainly if you go into a vintage shop the price will be outrageous. But I still see these cowboy boxes on eBay sometimes hovering around $10 so you should enter it as an e-mail search and see if a cheaper one pops up.

Beware when buying lunchboxes. A few years ago several companies began releasing reproductions of many of the old classic boxes such as Land of the Giants, Astronaut, Chuck Wagon and various Roy Rogers. These boxes sell on ebay for aprox. $10 to $30, but the gauge of metal in thinner and the graphics and colors are poor quality when compared to the originals. Also some of the graphics may be missing. For example, the original Chuck Wagon has a beautiful panoramic scene of a wagon train camp on the underside of the box, whereas the repro does not.

To buy a nice quality original lunchbox is going to cost more, and some boxes can be quite expensive (especially space age and cowboy boxes). The average price of a Chuck Wagon box in C8 condition is aprox. $200 to $250 on ebay. The average price of a C8 Jetsons box is $800 and up!
