Earth, Wind and Fire …

Submitted by MyFunCloset June 9th, 2010

A recent sale had a box was filled with albums. I pulled all the EW&F albums and sure enough, Allee you are there. Sadly it rained the night before and they failed to properly protect the album covers.

This is how much I know my discography – I have no idea which of these LPs I was on. Gratitude and Open our Eyes were before my time so I must have some stuff on Spirit which I think came out in 2001. I wasn’t really liking what I was having to write by that time. The killer EWF LP for my songs is I Am which came out in 1979. That had Boogie Wonderland on it and was the album that crossed them over into the mainstream. I co-wrote everything on there except for two songs.

Are those African statues that the albums are leaning on? That’s so appropriate given the amount of African percussion on those LPs.

Unbelievable that they left the albums out in the rain.

I’m positive “A.Willis” is noted on either one of the top two LPs. Not sure about the bottom LPs. Those African statues were part of the estate sale filled with international decor. A shame that these albums survive decades and in one day are ruined.
