A small portion of my collection consists of pins marked Made In W Germany. Whoever in West Germany was manufacturing these, they made a wide variety of designs, including flowers, leaves, butterflies, beetles, owls, and others. All are made from aluminum or a combination of aluminum and plastic. This pin is both materials (the flowers are plastic, the rest is aluminum).
The flowers are rather sloppily glued onto the leaf and the glue has yellowed a lot over the years.

Another fabulous pin. As a Kitsch lover I like it even more that the glue is globbed on and yellowing. Makes me think maybe someone bought the aluminum pin and decided to gussy it up themselves. Is that a possibility?

Wouldn’t surprise me in the least, though I *think* this one was made this way (it’s possible the flowers came off and someone glued them back on though!)
