The mid ’60s… It was a time for straight, smooth hair. No big hair, no drastic hair colors, no curls, nothing too edgy. Well that didn’t last too long did it?

I know these hairstyles well. I had an ‘artichoke’ which was somewhat akin to the third photo from the left in the bottom row. It was still a pain in the ass to maintain but involved nowhere near the skill or time it took to rat up the bouffants or sculpt the flips that came before it.
Was this an ad for some hair care product or is it just from a book showing hairstyles of that vintage?
The model who’s second from the right in the bottom row looks like Sandra Bernhard.

This was a section on hair styles in a 1964 Glamour magazine. Rarely do I find these at tag sale but scoop up anything ’60s. My best find was a ’63 Seventeen back to school issue introducing the Beatles. You’ve mentioned Sandra in your friend circle, so you think it’s her? I thought that was Cybil Sheppard top right.

I’m friends with both of them. Not Cybill in top right but I could see how you might think so. And Sandra would have been too young for that photo.
