About 40 miles outside of Boise, Idaho, is a small agricultural town by the name of Parma, Idaho. Population about 1,700. This drive in is a couple miles outside of Parma. Since 1953 this theater has shown movies to Idahoans and passers-through alike.
Those are grain bins in the background for the farm next door.

Absolutely beautiful classic neon sign. I’m so happy to hear that this drive-in is still in existence. I’m betting that the snack bar is fantastic too. And how completely wonderful is the name Motor Vu for a drive-in?!

I happened to have dinner in Bellevue Washington Wednesday night with some cool people from Boise, and they tell me there’s a lot more to Parma than just a drive in theater, and want me to go out there with them next time for some americana as well as some kitsch photos.
Apparently Motor Vu was a chain in Oregon and Idaho, but I don’t have a lot of details as I post this.

Oooooh, take that trip and more photos please!

Aren’t they the best Mark! The flea market I go to (and yes, I’m going to it tomorrow!!) is also a drive-in and still working! This sign is much more fab than the one here!!

This is such a great post, wondering if it’s far enough from the city lights to be pitch black?…

I forgot that video it’s been so long since I’ve been to the drive in! Thanks for putting that up k2dtw.
