Lead-footed Pipe Cleaner People

Found these bizarre figures at a yard sale and immediately knew I had to own them. They’re crudely made out of pipe cleaners, yarn, gauze, wood balls (heads) and heavy lead feet. They look old to me (1930’s?) or maybe that’s just because the hairstyle on the figure on the right reminds me of Alfalfa from the Little Rascals.

Oh boy, these are INSANE!! Every single inch of them is crazy and the lead feet are simply inspired. How often does one find something cute made out of pipe cleaners only to have it never stand up or the feet get so completely grungy because you’re always sitting there knotting them up in attempts to make them stand up?

I love that the one on the left is a dead ringer for Alfalfa from The Little Rascals. I love the chicken toe hands of the other guy.

The way their faces are painted are nuts and I love that the one without the chicken toe hands has a giraffe neck to make up for his hand deficiency.
