Imagine finally turning 16. You study hard and pass your driving test . You get your driving permit. You’re ready to ask for the key to your parents’ car…. and this is what you get.

I collect trophies and the car ones are among the best because they’re so futuristic looking, oftentimes with the car rising on a wave like this one.
I absolutely love the 70s contact paper looking support post.
I would have been very happy to receive a trophy when I turned 16 and got the keys to a clunky but still running ’62 Chevy Impala.

Ahhhh, a Chevy Impala. Was that a 2 door or a 4 door?? 4 door was quite a boat. My first car was a 1977 Chrysler New Yorker. That I got in 1984. My friends dubbed it the S.S. Lisa. It sat 8 comfortably. It was great to go to Rocky Horror w/7 of my closest friends.
It was a 2-door, but very stripped down. Not a stunner. But I do still have my ’55 Studebaker Commander and 55 DeSoto Fireflyte, though both are on blocks waiting for mommy to restore them.
