A breath of plastic-scented air: The Magnavox Phantom

I’m going crazy with the remotes this week, and can hardly contain my excitement after snapping up this odd little number, the Magnavox Phantom.

One deep smush of these buttons causes a small bellows mechanism inside to emit a puff of air through the screen in the remote. I have no idea how on earth this worked. It sounds a bit like the breathing apparatus you hear in hospitals… “PSSSShhhht.”

OH, THIS ONE IS GORGEOUS! The shot from the top kills me with the screen and wide girth of the buttons. That Magnavox logo looks like the Cadillac logo, and this remote is surely the Cadillac of remotes! Love that it’s called The Phantom, like no one’s gonna notice anything is controlling the TV.

    More remotes please!
