Bon Ami is French for “Good Friend.” The cleanser was invented back in the late 19th Century and the Bon Ami mascot, a little chick emerging form it’s shell, has been around since 1886. The product’s slogan “Hasn’t scratched yet” refers to the fact that the product doesn’t scratch surfaces. As a little kid growing up in the 1950’s, I was always attracted to this little chick and I guess I still am because I use Bon Ami to this very day. I believe this unused three-pack of Bon Ami is from the late 1940’s or early 1950’s. As you can see, it is marked 26 cents. To see Bon Ami ads from over the years, check out the slide show on the official Bon Ami website – http://www.bonami.com/index.php/about_bon_ami/
