As popular as real sea monkeys were and as much as I loved seeing ads in magazines and common books to buy them, it always freaked me out that these tiny living things died so soon. I would have been heartbroken and traumatized constantly had i ordered any.
What I want to know is why the characters in this ad, not the human ones but the completely insane looking pink family in front of the castle, weren’t turned into their own comic book or TV series? And I love the disclaimer at the bottom of the first ad saying that the caricatures shown are not intended to depict the soon-to-be dead sea monkeys that they’re selling. I love the pink family!
