This is an attempt to get kids to eat beets in the early 70s by disguising beets as french fries. It obviously didn’t work. Even the little girl on the box seems disgusted at the idea.
I might have even gone for beets as a kid if they took on the character of french fries.
I had absolutely no idea this product even existed. I like the stamp mark on the front of the box which makes it look like a bug is about to devour the “hate”.
This is beyond bizarre– I’ve never seen these either. If you still have this box I’d be really curious to see what the list of ingredients includes. Are the beets in a batter? Is MSG a major ingredient? Is beets the first ingredient?

I Hate Beets is SUCH a perfect 70’s product name.

I like beets, but I”m pretty sure I wouldn’t eat these.
