This is a sculpture carved by the very 1st “bad’ artist whose work I bought on eBay, G.F. White. He was very much the inspiration for Bubbles the artist. He did hundreds of paintings, mostly on jewelry boxes – they’re the ones that hang at the top of the stairs going downstairs at Willis Wonderland – and he was selling all of them as fast as he could paint. Anywhere from $25-$300 a pop. It was fascinating that someone could make a living this way and hence Bubbles was born.

White’s sculptures were actually pretty good. His paintings, however, were an entirely different matter.

This woman is about 14 inches tall and is made out of wood.

Thank you for this Allee. If I could remember my school work as good as I can remember the stories behind your kitsch, I’d be set!
