I found this cheesy do-it-yourself 1970s decorating concept– LIGHT BLOCKS (manufactured by The Creative Décor Group of Dixson, Inc., Grand Junction, Colorado) at a recent yard sale. The product consists of four lightweight 8″ x 8″ x 2″ “Aztec Gold” plastic boxes that, according to the instructions, offer “a multitude of designs and configurations, from squares to strips to diamonds – even circles of beautiful glowing light.” Comes with 4 white plastic backings, plug-in cord with 4 attached bulbs, bag of adhesive strips and screws, and instruction sheet.
Label on box describes the item this way: “Squares of glowing light just press on the wall, connect and turn on lighting excitement… A fabulous new decorating concept – put light and color where you want it – in home, office, business establishment…. Each set is complete with everything you need for an exciting decorative design in light.”
