Jack Webb singing “Try A Little Tenderness”, William Shatner and “Lucy In The Sky with Diamonds”, Sebastin Cabot sings “Like A Rolling Stone” and “It Ain’t Me Babe”, Andy Griffith and “House of The Rising Sun”, “White Room” by Joel Grey, Mae West and “Twist & Shout”, “Proud Mary” by Leonard Nimoy.
Along with “Golden Throats, Volume II” this really was the first compilation to honor this sub basement level of singing celebrity style. I was upset when it first came out as I prided myself on being the authority on bad singers but realized it would just bring notoriety to the genre and make my collection all that more legitimate.
It’s hard for me to single out a favorite. William Shatner is always way up there because he always took himself so seriously but really they’re all so terrible yet eternally happy and committed they’re all winners.
This is a must-have for anyone into music Kitsch.
