I had the chance to get to know Bruce in passing and have to say, silly t shirts and all, what an incredible character! Taken around ’95 I think.

Bruce Vilanch is one of my oldest showbiz friends. He was one of the first people to hear my one and only album as a singer, Childstar, before it came out and is a de rigueur guest at all my parties (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD3rIowL_28). We go back to 1974 when I was a hat check girl and hanger of posters at New York clubs Catch A Rising Star and Reno Sweeney,THE NY cabaret in the ’70s. Bette Midler, the first singer ever to hear my songs, was THE the star of the cabaret and pop scenes and Bruce was always in tow.
He makes a perfect Valentine’s Day date.
