A fisherman got these fish socks as a gift but just didn’t have the courage to wear them… then into the yard sale box it went …they were bought again as a gift for another fisherman… as long as the box stays in good shape the gift cycle will go on and on. (this is the photo on the box)

I have long had a love of socks and have collected them feverishly. When I first got a job out of college it was as a copywriter at Columbia/Epic records in New York. My art director partner there founded Hot Sox, the very first company to do crazy socks. Even something as simple as bright colored striped socks had not been done for the mass market before. I was the first person to have the entire line of Hot Sox bestowed upon them and I’ve never turned back.

Socks are an essential part of any outfit and yet are overlooked by 98% of the population.

I have no idea how these fish socks escaped my eyeballs but I’ve never seen them before. The only problem is I would never want to cover the fish head and I don’t like walking around in only socks. I’d probably give these a go with rubber thongs as the little band would fit perfectly into the fish’s mouth.

I have always been big on fun colorful socks. Funny story…in 1972 I back packed around Europe for the summer months. That’s where I discovered how cultures fashioned their socks. In Amsterdam & the North, socks with sandles, then in Rome, the men matched their socks to their shirt color, usually wearing black slacks…orange shirt, orange socks.
Also, I wore Halloween socks when I flew on Oct 31, since I had to take off my shoes why not have fun.
