Granny & Grampy’s Retirement

Submitted by Nessa April 14th, 2010

These two exceedingly heavy banks until recently were hiding on the top shelf of my grandparents’ clothes closet. I’d often slide open the door and sneak a peek at these when I was a kid. I figure they put them way up on that shelf so I wouldn’t break them, or else they thought somebody would steal the money inside. Sadly to say there wasn’t enough money inside to retire on, but I could probably take some people out to dinner. :)

Adorable! At first I thought for sure they were S&P’so but they seem much rarer as banks. You don’t usually see banks that are mates. And so great, of course, that they’ve been in your family and you used to sneak a peek as a little girl.

Your memories make these banks exceed the riches saved up inside….unless the coins were gold. Whose bank was more full? I’m guessing Grandma!
